Using the toolbar

Options on the toolbar will be covered from left to right:
You may press the “ “ button on the toolbar
to minimize SoftTouch to the “system tray”. The system tray usually
appears at the bottom right corner of your windows desktop. You can click on
the SoftTouch icon in the system tray to redisplay the toolbar.
Alternatively, if you right-click on the SoftTouch icon in
the system tray, options will be displayed.
If you press the “ ” button on the toolbar,
you will be presented with a window that allows you to shut down SoftTouch:

Note: When shutting down, it may take up to a minute to stop
the program. This is because if hardware is being used, the system needs time
to notify online callers. A message will popup reminding you of this. Once you
see the toolbar disappear (as well as any open windows), the program has
shutdown.
The “ ” button will popup a
menu with additional options:
HELP->ABOUT
You can obtain the software version, number of licensed
ports as well as read release notes.
HELP->README
Displays important information about SoftTouch.
HELP->UPGRADE
In non-evaluation versions, this option lets you change your
number of licensed ports with the entry of an activation code. The
evaluation version must be replaced with a different EXE after purchase to help
protect our software. The activation code screen appears below:

HELP -> TEST EMAIL
SoftTouch supports the option of sending emails to the
system operator when events occur such as an error or if ISDN PRI lines are not
functioning correctly. This option will send a test email using the
configuration options 922-930. See "Configuration
Screen"
for more information on setting configuration options. You must first set
option 922 to YES before options 923-930 will appear. You must restart the
program after setting 922 to YES, configure options 923-930 and then restart
the program once more. SoftTouch will notify you through a popup box if the
email was sent successfully. You should then check your email inbox to confirm
receipt.
HELP -> TEST INTERNET
SoftTouch will attempt to communicate with the internet. The
results of the test will be displayed in a popup box.
RESTART, REBOOT, LOCKOUT, CLOSE
Restart - Will shut down SoftTouch and launch it again right
away. This option is useful if you need to reload changed configuration
options. Note: It is not necessary to reboot or restart after you use
the Wizard for the first time, or any time when it is run before the system
completely loads. In such cases, the configuration info is loaded with the rest
of the system before hardware is initialized.

Reboot - Will shut down SoftTouch and reboot your computer.
SoftTouch will call an exe called "SoftTouchReboot.exe" (for use only
with SoftTouch). The reboot exe has been tested with various Windows versions.
The reboot application will automatically detect what type of system (XP,
Windows 2000) you are running and reboot it appropriately.

Lockout - Will prevent channels from taking new calls.
Callers will receive a ring when this option is activated. Callers on the
system at the time this option is executed will remain online and their
channels will be "locked out" at such time as they logoff. This
option is only available on analog systems. You will need to monitor the system
from the monitor screen. You will need to issue a Reboot, Restart or Close when
you see all the channels locked out, which will be indicated by the words **
LOCKED OUT** appearing in each channel. At this time, there is no way to
"unlock" the system once it is locked, so only use the option if you
intend to take the system down.
Close - Terminates the application without rebooting or
restarting.

Note: When shutting down, it may take up to a minute to stop
the program. This is because if hardware is being used, the system needs time
to notify online callers. A message will popup reminding you of this. Once you
see the toolbar disappear (as well as any open windows), the program has
shutdown.
SYSTEM TYPE
You can choose to display a smaller toolbar if SoftTouch is
not being used as a phone dating system. SoftTouch is flexible enough to be
used for other applications such as classified ads or an auto-attendant. The
default setting is “Dating”. If you choose “All
Others”, you will see the following toolbar:

You can change the toolbar back to the full sized version at
any time by selecting “Dating” instead of “All Others”.
